It is all over …. or really it has just begun ..

What a fantastic weekend – and not to mention honeymoon! It was so wonderful to see all of you and to celebrate all weekend long (even if the tropical storm kept us inside). Friday night’s variety show was hysterical, the dancing skills out on the dance floor Saturday evening were impressive and the incredible weather that showed up for breakfast on Sunday was relieving.

Before the wedding we made a short video to show during the reception. Unfortunately since we captured so many of the clips on older digital cameras – the video was too pixilated to project. However, we are able to share it with you here (it just may take a moment to load).

Glacier National Park was just spectacular. The lakes were crystal clear, the peaks were sky high, the bears were close and the weather was amazing. We did a four-day backpacking trip through the park that was just under 40 miles long, hitting one beautiful spot after another. And yes the sign hanging from my backpack in this picture says "Just Married".

In short we had more fun than we imagined – and it was because all of you were able to share it with us. So we thank you again for making the big journey to Vermont, even in the bad weather. A lot of you have already shared photos with us - but we'd certainly love to see more of them if possible. Oh and thank you for taking one more look at our blog.

Thank you Everyone!

Just Around the Corner

Well we're merely days away from the big festival (or wedding) - and are getting very excited. We know that nearly everyone has made arrangements already and should be pretty set on details. Now we all just need to hope for good weather - to make the gondola ride to the ceremony more enjoyable for everyone!

Just a note on DRESS:
Friday evening is very casual - so just come as you are.
Saturday - if the weather is good and we do ride the gondola women may want to wear flats or wide heals for the ceremony since getting on and off the gondola in spikey heels may be a challenge (and there is some gravel at the top). There will be a place to leave your extra pair of shoes at the reception if you'd like. However, the wedding will be normal wedding wear --- we want you to be comfortable - but look good!!
Sunday brunch is also very casual.

Please feel free to call with any questions and we can't wait to see everyone. So bring your appetites and dancing shoes - and let this party going.

See you all soon.

Welcome back to our Blog. We hope that you're visiting this page either because you’re a Levy-Carlis wedding enthusiast or you received an invitation in the mail.

While it doesn't quiet feel like summer yet with all this rain in the North East - it is already late June and only 9 weeks away from the wedding. There is already information here on the blog about accommodations at Stratton - so please take a look if you haven't made your arrangements yet. And feel free to contact us if you'd like to know who else is coming to coordinate housing options.

Suggested Driving Directions to Stratton Resort:
Our best advise is to use the center of Bondville, VT as a final destination in your GPS or Google map.
We've created a google map coming from Route 7 (in VT) to Bondville and Route 91 to Bondville.

If you’re coming from Brattleboro once you see Starting Gate Ski Shop on your left – you’re almost there.

From Bondville there is a large Stratton sign at the entrance - the 'driveway' heads uphill, passes the golf course, and continues to the mountain base with well marked signs to get you to your destination.

Just a Couple Ideas of Things to Do (but take a look online for more ideas):
Hiking, Biking, Golf, Outlet Shopping, River fun, museums, Resort Activities and Wedding Goodness.

We may be posting more information before the big day - maybe about events, clothing or any other announcements (probably not more than once) - so you're welcome to subscribe to this blog to get notified when we've updated it. We'll also be sure to provide information when everyone arrives.

Looking forward to it - and have a great summer!

Just a Little Thing ...

We've got about 3 months to go and are happy to see that summer has arrived. We made a small addition to our registry list and just wanted to make sure it was clear. We are currently registered at Crate and Barrel, Williams-Sonoma and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

The Lodging Thing

We have some information regarding the lodging options at Stratton. There are a variety of options available at the resort and in the town of Manchester, which is about 15 minutes away. At the resort you have the option of staying in hotel style accommodations or 1 bedroom to 4 bedroom condominiums. We strongly recommend the condominium option because it would be more economical and fun if you stay with some friends. To find out what's available and pricing, please call the Reservations office at 800-787-2886 and tell them you're with the Levy/Carlis Wedding and reference block group number 4B5890. To get the special wedding pricing you have to call the reservations office to make your reservation.

If you're interested in staying in a condominium but you don't know who you can stay with, please let us know and we'd be happy to help.

We are planning a BBQ for Friday night & a breakfast Sunday morning, so remember to make your reservations accordingly if you plan on joining us for those meals as well.

Its gonna be a great weekend!

Tell me again where this wedding is ...

Thank you everyone for your kind messages and checking out this site! We’re happy to hear that you’ve received our save the date and it hopefully has a warm spot somewhere in your home. As promised we’ll slowly be adding more information about the wedding to this blog – so be sure to keep checking back.

We understand that posting a comment on this page is a bit more challenging than we anticipated. Unfortunately, since this is a Google sponsored blog you must have a Google account in order to post a comment. If you are dying to post something and are having difficulty we’ll be happy to post it if you’d like … but of course that may mean we’ll edit it ;). You can email it to us at avital.levy@gmail.com

Since Stratton Mountain is not necessarily on the beaten path we’ve created this map to help put it in perspective to local airports (marked in red), New England cities and the major high ways. The closest town to the resort is Manchester, VT.

Below are some approximate driving times to Stratton:

Lexington, MA ------------- 3 hr

Allentown, PA ------------ 5¼ hr

Albany Airport ------------ 1½ hr

Boston Airport ------------ 3½ hr

Hartford Airport ----------- 2½ hr

Burlington, VT Airport ----- 2½ hr

Manchester, NH Airport --- 2½ hr

We will be posting information on accommodations soon – so please stay tuned.

For those of you on the East coast it is rather difficult to remember that summer is just around the corner – especially under all this snow. But it’ll be here before we know it and we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone in August.

So We Finally Got Our Act Together . . .

Welcome family and friends - you've made it to the website!
Well maybe we should say WE've made it! It only took 6 years of dating, living in 5 different cities and 6 months of being engaged to finally be able to share with you the details of our upcoming wedding.

Many of you already know that Ben proposed this past summer while we were backpacking in the Dusy Basin of the California high sierras. We have since moved from California back to Boston and are living in Jamaica Plain.

The plans are finally in place and we want to use this blog to share the information you'll need about the wedding. It will be a weekend wedding at Stratton Mountain, Vermont - a ski resort in Southern Vermont, where we hope everyone will come stay. Having a soft spot for mountains, Ben and I couldn't be happier to be surrounded by them when we get married.

The wedding will be on Saturday evening on August 29th, 2009. Be sure to block your calendar and plan on coming.

As the date approaches we'll be posting more information on this blog about lodging details, schedules, directions, and hopefully everything else you'll need - so be sure to keep this website handy. We have registered at both Crate & Barrel and Williams-Sonoma.

Thanks for stopping by and we can't wait to see you at the wedding this summer.
